New Timbuk2 messenger bag

by andy on February 21st, 2007

I fetched my new Timbuk2 single speed courier bag on tuesday. It replaced my old laptop bag which started to fall apart. For now I’m deeply impressed: while I knew that the fabrics will be water-proof I’m surprised how rugged and sturdy the bag looks.

The high lights so far:

  • the fabric just feels like it could resist everything
  • its colour scheme fits me better than that of the gaudy curmpler bags
  • accessories are mostly made from genuine leather or metal, never thaught that this would make that large difference
  • the laptop compartment should protect my laptop from all damage. It is attached to the side of the bag and doesn’t even touch the bottom so there’s an additional safe air zone between the hardware and the main source of succussion (the floor). By the way it’s covered in corduroy
  • the inner compartments are large enough, there’s a multitude of small to medium slots on its side

I’m quite impressed. The plain front still cries for badges, suggestions are welcome (even more if they’d be red).

Pictures will follow as soon as my Ixus 50 will communicate with linux again.
