Carinthia/My sister’s birthday

by andy on November 24th, 2006

My sister’s birthday is waiting on the doorstep so once again I traveled from Vienna back to the homeland in Carinthia.

So, today Kathi turns 22. I can’t really express how fortunate I feel for having her. Keep going! Hopefully she’ll visit Vienna soon.

The day started not as slow as I hoped: I spent most of the forenoon and some time after lunch working outdoors in the woods – chopping and stacking logs. The irritating part today: I was quite enjoying it, bumping fresh new air in my lungs, hurling logs around. At least some sort of balancing my other life.

The whole good stuff is overshadowed by the illness of one of Kathi’s kittens. While the youngest (which I loved to call the “Black One”) passed away into warmer lands two weeks ago, Jester isn’t looking to good right now. I’m still hoping that he’ll make it – he’s the adipose one – he shouldn’t be taken down by sickness that fast. Hopefully.

there’s no wrong or right,
but i’m sure there’s good and bad
the questions linger overhead
no matter how cold the winter,
there’s a springtime ahead
i’m thumbing my way back to heaven
