Update: I’ve brought the misbehaving child to an apple support store. It seems that this iPod isn’t registered by apple (which is possible as it is the replacement for my first iPod). They were quite confused when I produced my Apple CarePack for exactly this iPod. Now I’ve got to wait for their examination results, but I strongly believe that they will make me pay 18 euros for non-hardware errors and I won’t see my iPod again for a long, long time.
