we’re just 21 years behind schedule

by andy on September 27th, 2005

Just read this article (found via Schneier on Security). A men was arrested for acting suspiciously at a subway station. His wrong-doingss were: wearing a rain coat, shades and rucksack, using his cell phone and avoiding eye contact with police officers.

He was detained, the subway station closed. Even after hist innocence is clear the national police computer stores his fingerprints, dna and the report about this incident (which may be synced with other law enforcement companies).

This could happen to most of us.
